Guide To Using PlayTours’ Answer Validation System

Rosalee

Have a task that requires real-time human validation?

PlayTours allows tasks with different types of pre-defined answers — text, numbers, integers, location check-in, QR/barcode.

But what if a task does not have a pre-defined answer?

For example:

  1. A task that tells players to take a photo in front of a monument.
  2. A task that requires a team to think of a poem with specific rhyming patterns.

These will require a game facilitator to validate, and if applicable, give different points for different answers (e.g. more smiles, more points!). PlayTours makes this easy to do.

Step 1: Create a task and set the type to either “judged-text” or “judged-image”. It is to allow players to submit text or an image respectively.

Step 2: Create a game session using the “Add session” button.

Step 3: Open the Facilitator’s Panel via the URL.

Step 4: When a team submits an answer, it will appear on the judgement panel. Select the hammer icon and approve/reject accordingly. Points can be given according to the task requirements.

Once a Facilitator has submitted a judgement…

When approved — there will be a notification in the Tasks navigation button, and the comment from the facilitator will appear

When rejected— there will be a notification in the Tasks navigation button, and the comment from the facilitator will appear, along with a note saying that the previous answer is marked as wrong.
